Australian Property & Building Inspections Sydney based building inspectors must comply with our organisations code of conduct.
Each inspector employed is required to comply with each state legislative requirements that regulate or govern inspectors in the performance of building inspection functions, inspectors must:
Hold a current building trade qualification, or industry equivalent;
Be able to prove 10 years building and construction experience;
A working knowledge of their relevant state building code, for example in New South Wales it is Home Building Act 1989;
Received accredited training from various RTO.
If carrying out asbestos inspections, a building inspector must have a through knowledge of asbestos and comply with all applicable legislation relating to asbestos relevant to their particular state, for example in NSW refer to www.epa.nsw.gov.au
